DUE to human dietary requirements for meat and other products of animal origin, huge amounts of animal waste remain daily in all parts of Republic of Croatia. Yearly, Croatia consumes about ten million chickens, over a million pigs and hundred thousand heads of bovine, lambs and other farmed animals. Man consumes merely 50 - 58 percent of animal meat, 25 percent of every animal is inedible by- product not intended for human consumption. A certain number of cattle perish on farms, and need to be removed harmlessly.
